First off, nice to see you around Cliff. Been awhile. Its funny that you brought up this subject today, because I was listening to 2FTV earlier and came to the conclusion that although TOOs like the one from 2-23-74 and 5-25-77 are wonderful pieces of music, they just don't compare to the TIFTOO suites of 68-70. Dare I say it? Tell is right. Actually that wasn't so painful. I will do it again. 12-29-68 rocks!! Okay well the math tutor loves that one too. I can't say i have a favorite from '69 but I really like 2-13-70. Love that the drummers started teasing NFA and someone (Bobby?) joined in. Bobby also tries to send this one to a Spanish Jam at one point. While not a the whole suite I also like 8-6-71. MAMU never sounded so cool.

Whoops--hmmm, doing this repeatedly...but forgot, agree, of course, about how nice it is on TFTV as I mentioned. Again, part of that is how much I listened to it...for yrs it was the best recording I had of that fall 68 time period. Big impact on me.

Hey now--that Nov 69 is the one exception to my point above about not having many in the second half of 69 to choose from...love it.

I also like 5-26-72 and 5-26-73.

I'm still too fresh (as labeled by veggie stickers at shows)to make a go -- like some of you -- for loaded years like 72-74, even though I favor them far more than 70-71.

It has to be 02/28/69 for me....TC's contribution is pretty awesome in my honest opinion.

DS 2-28-69: and That's It For The Other One/Wharf Rat 12-14-71,
first of two nights at Hill Auditorium, Ann Arbor MI, incredible Billy drum solo; the whole night was so perfect, everything was left on, and nothing was moved between the 14th and the 15th. Funny, despite "don't change or move anything" the 15th was just OK. Goes to show, a good night comes when the music says so, not by any mere mortal or musician.

Yep, it's between 8-6 and 11-7 for me for the OO/M&MU too...just because I have always loved those shows and listened to them soo much. Might be there are better ones in 71, but have to go with those two for personal reasons.
